Our Values

Giving Back

At The White Flower, we think it's important to support charitable organizations. Our boutique's main charity just so happens to be local as well! We're proud to support the San Diego Humane Society in a variety of ways!

In addition to yearly donations and volunteer efforts, our boutique occasionally hosts "puppy parties" for our staff. With a donation to the shelter, a puppy foster will bring a litter of puppies for our staff to play with. These are always a huge success!

The store owners, Cavin and David, have spent over 365 days of their lives fostering kittens, having now fostered over 40 kittens in partnership with the San Diego Humane Society! Cavin and David have adopted one of the fosters permanently, and store staff members have adopted several kittens as well! Working with our close wedding vendor friends, we've also found permanent homes for other kittens. Tabletop rental extraordinaire Hostess Haven adopted two of her own!

Sustainability

  • Fabric Recycling

The White Flower recycles all fabric scraps that aren't kept by our brides. We also recycle used bridal garment bags from our brides and any inventory items damaged beyond repair. Additionally, all of our staff are able to bring in their own fabric scraps or clothing that cannot be donated.

  • Made to order

The dresses in our store are made to order. Only one "sample size" floor model dress per style is available for try on. Brides say yes to their favorite and we only order what they purchase. Our floor model dresses are eventually retired to our off-the-rack section where they are sold for a discount. There is never overstock or waste.

  • Our Designers

We love supporting bridal designers who value sustainability. For example, Vagabond bridal focuses on minimal waste production, only uses eco silks, and uses minimal packaging materials. Another designer, Kelly Faetanini, chooses their materials with care, especially their garment bags which are lightweight and recyclable. They also recycle all fabric scraps. In addition, we make many veils in-house, minimizing transportation emissions on a large majority of our accessories.
