About Our Bridal Alterations

The White Flower is proud to be the only San Diego bridal boutique to offer full-service on site alterations for brides. We truly have you taken care of from dress shopping to beautifully walking down the aisle. Our expert team will perfectly tailor your dress and have it fitting you like a glove!

We also accept brides who purchased their wedding dresses from other bridal boutiques, as well as brides who are wearing a family heirloom piece. Call us to set up an appointment with an alterations specialist. For the initial alterations appointment, please bring your wedding day shoes and expect the appointment to last around an hour. Standard alterations typically range from $1000 - $1500 depending upon the scope of the work.

Additionally, we offer wedding dress steaming, cleaning, preservation, and restoration services for all brides regardless of where you found your gown.

At The White Flower, our talented team is able to execute custom wedding dress alterations that are absolutely flawless. Whether you’re looking to add or remove sleeves, change the neckline, raise or lower the back, add a corset, remove a train, or have other ideas in mind - our team is able to do it all.

We also have experience creating custom veils and detachable accessories. For truly unique pieces, a bride can bring us inspiration photos and share their vision, then after approving the price, our team begins crafting a prototype that eventually becomes the final piece.

Preparing for Alterations

  • Scheduling

    Schedule your first fitting 6-8 weeks before your wedding. Don't have that much time? Don't worry, we offer rush options!

  • Shoes

    Bring your wedding day shoes to all of your fittings to ensure your hem is perfect for your dress.

  • Undergarments

    Bring any undergarments (shapewear, bra, etc) that you will be wearing with your dress.

  • Accessories

    Bring your accessories to see your completed look. Don’t have any? You can shop our veils, hair accessories, and jewelry after your fitting.

The Alterations Team

With nearly 40 years of experience in bridal alterations, our alterations specialists, Mary and Paul, run our wedding dress alterations department.

Mary has been working with our brides from the day we opened the boutique and knows our dresses and designers inside and out.

Paul joined The White Flower after an impressive career with Vera Wang. He has a love for pattern making and ensuring brides feel comfortable and confident in their wedding dress.

The alterations team are friendly, easy to talk to, and exceptionally skilled. Rest assured, your dress will be stunning! Whether you need simply a hem and a bustle or major customizations such as adding sleeves or significantly raising or lowering a neckline, we have you covered!
